Margaret Rupe Funeral Services Held in C.R.

Margaret M. Rupe, age 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 8 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 11 at Turner Chapel East in Cedar Rapids with Elmer A. Linkenback officiating.

Burial was held in Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.

Born January 6, 1915 in German township, Grundy county, she was the daughter of John Beving and Maggie Willems. On June 4, 1935 at Iowa City, she was united in marriage to Elmer Frederick Rupe. Margaret graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and taught elementary school. She was employed as secretary for the Cedar Rapids Block Company until her retirement in 1969. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer; her mother, Mrs. Maggie Beving of Wellsburg; three daughters, Gretchen Hendric of Chicago, Ill.; Priscilla Andersen of Cedar Rapids and Sara Rupe of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Alyce Luwe of Wausau, Wisc.; one brother, Leroy Beving of Wellsburg; and two grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.
