R. B. Tjaden Dies Following Heart Surgery
Funeral services for R. B. Tjaden, 68, of 1525 Caribbean Drive, Sarasota, Florida, were held on March 14, 1981 at 2 p.m. at the Wiegand Brothers Chapel at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota. Burial was also held there. Rev. Charles Schweikert was officiating clergyman.
Mr. Tjaden passed away on March 11, 1981 at the University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama following surgery.
R. B. Tjaden was born on January 1, 1913 in Grundy County, at Wellsburg, Iowa, and was the son of Meint Tjaden and Reka Frerichs Tjaden.
In 1961 the Tjadens moved to Sarasota to make their home. The deceased was semi-retired after 20 years as real estate broker and developer in the Sarasota area.
He was a member of the Mission Valley Country Club and Sarasota County Board of Realtors.
He leaves his wife Lois; a son, Thomas Tjaden; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Tjaden; also one brother, Mayo Tjaden of Wellsburg and other relatives.
Preceding him in death were his parents, also two sisters, Dorothy Schalk and Genevieve Tjaden.

Russell B. Tjaden Dies In Florida
Russell B. (Bud) Tjaden of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 a.m. at the University of Alabama Hospital following heart surgery on March 10.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Sarasota, with burial there also.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, one son Tom and a daughter-in-law, Kathy, of Sarasota. Also one brother, Mayo Tjaden of Wellsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Mayo Tjaden went to Birmingham, Alabama to be with his brother and family during the surgery, and following the death of his brother they went on to Sarasota for the funeral service.
