Neal Hoekstra, 66, Dies In Tucson Hospital

Word was received by relatives here of the death of Neal Hoekstra, 66, of Wickenburg, Arizona, a former Wellsburg resident. He died Thursday, March 1 at the Veterans hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Memorial services were held on Monday at Wickenburg.

He was born on November 3, 1912, to Ben and Louise (Akkerman) Hoekstra at Wellsburg. He was married to Elma Babcock. The couple lived at Wellsburg and later they resided in Steamboat Rock and Iowa Falls. For the past eight years they have lived in Arizona.

Survivors are his wife, Elma; a daughter, Mrs. Sandi McGuffin of Wickenburg; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Wendell of Eldora.

Preceding the deceased in death were his parents and a brother, Thomas.

A memorial fund was established and memorials will be given to the Episcopalian Church in Wickenburg to help replace Sunday School rooms recently destroyed by fire. Anyone wishing to send memorials can send them to Mrs. Hoekstra at Box 1553, Wickenburg, Arizona 85358.
