Glen H. Peters

Glen H. Peters, 71, died Sunday at the Marshalltown Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Lawrence Johnson officiating. Mrs. Lawrence Johnson was organist and soloist was Richard Schafer of Wellsburg. Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Kuper, LeRoy Kuper, Robert Ubben, Harold Behrends, Meint Feikes and Dr. R. M. Swasand. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.

The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Glen H. Peters was born September 24, 1909 at Wellsburg, the son of Ben F. and Elsie Tjaden Peters. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1927 and attended Iowa State University. On July 24, 1939, he was united in marriage to Edith Emal.

Mr. Peters was an auctioneer for over 40 years and was operator of the Ackley Sales Pavilion for 35 years before retiring in 1978.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; two children, Dr. B. Ferrell Peters of Marshalltown and Mrs. Walter H. (Connie) Miller of Reinbeck; his mother, Mrs. Elsie Peters of Wellsburg; and seven grandchildren, Filip, Lisa, Kelly, Jennifer and Holly Peters of Marshalltown and Ferron and Jaden Miller of Reinbeck.

Preceding him in death were his father, Ben F. Peters in 1960 and a sister, Norma Riekena in 1977.
