Reinbeck Woman Dies At Daughter's Home in Beaman

Mrs. Hans Staack from Reinbeck died last Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam Thelman at Beaman. Cancer was the cause of her death. She was 76 years old.

Funeral services were at the Lutheran church in Reinbeck Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Reinbeck cemetery.

Mrs. Staack was born in Schlesswig, Germany, Dec. 2, 1874. She came to the U.S. in 1883 where she married Hans Staack at Dysart Aug. 22, 1890. Eleven children were born. A daughter died in infancy. The 10 surviving children are: Mrs. George Meier, Gladbrook, Mrs. Foster Wakefield, of Conrad; Peter of Oran; Gene of Waterloo; John of Beaman; Mrs. Henry Reick, Waterloo; Mrs. Walter Barfels, Lincoln; Mrs. Sam Thelman, Beaman; Mrs. Joe Thelman, Laramie, Wyo., and Edwin of Conrad.

Fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. and Mrs. Staack observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1940 at Gladbrook. Mr. Staack died Aug. 15, 1946. The couple had farmed at Dysart and Hawkeye before moving to Reinbeck 20 years ago.
