Mrs. Jesse Robinson Dies In Cedar Rapids

Mrs. Maggie Robinson, 78, wife of the late Jesse Robinson, former Grundy Center residents, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids after a lingering illness.

She was born Nov. 9, 1874, at Lanark, Ill., and later moved with her parents to Reinbeck, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On Sept. 28, 1898, she was united in marriage to Jesse Sherman Robinson at Grundy Center. The couple made their home at Grundy Center until 1947 when they moved to Cedar Rapids to be with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clapp.

Mr. Robinson's death occurred in October 1951, and a daughter, Emma Hansen, died in November 1950.

Surviving are one daughter, Bina, who is Mrs. Ray Clapp of Cedar Rapids, five grandchildren, Marlin and Robert Hansen, Cedar Falls, Dorothy Hansen, St. Paul, Minn., Russell Clapp, Cedar Rapids, Virginia Wheadon, South Gate, Calif., one great-grandchild, Bobby Wheadon, and a brother, William E. Redfearn, Reinbeck.

Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Grundy Center Baptist church, Wilson Relief Corps and Garden Club.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Ferree Funeral Chapel and will be conducted by Rev. A. D. Mohr, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be in the family lot at Grundy Center.
