George Graves Died Saturday Morning

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bethany Presbyterian church for George Graves, 65.

Burial was in the Colfax Center Presbyterian church cemetery.

Mr. Graves died Saturday morning of a heart attack. He had suffered his first heart attack in December, 1952, and had to be confined in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital for two weeks.

He was born March 16, 1888, in Lincoln township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johan Graves, and grew up in that neighborhood.

He married Lena Kruse on Feb. 4, 1914, and the couple farmed in Colfax township until they moved to Grundy Center in 1944. Mrs. Graves died in December, 1951.

Following his wife's death he lived with John E. Graves for 4 months, then lived in the Graves Apartments until December, 1952.

For the last year he had made his home with his son, John, on a farm northwest of Grundy Center.

Surviving are the son; two brothers, Tom and Henry of Dike; a sister, Mrs. John Heronimus of Wellsburg, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
