Sharon Kay Boyenga, 57, of Ackley, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Presbyterian Village, Ackley, Iowa. Memorial services for Sharon Kay Boyenga will be 10:30 am Monday, July 2nd at the United Methodist Church, 416 Hardin Street, Ackley, Iowa, with inurnment at the East Friesland Church Cemetery, Ackley, Iowa. The Linn's Funeral Homes Ackley Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Sharon Kay Boyenga was born June 18, 1955, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin Boyde and Esther Louise (Van Loh) Boyenga. She attended the Ackley-Geneva Community School, graduating with the class of 1973. She received her CNA Degree from Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls. Sharon worked for Eldora Quality Products, Boyt Manufacturing of Iowa Falls, Heritage Care Center of Iowa Falls, the Presbyterian Village of Ackley, and Dekalb Seed in Eldora. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Ackley, Iowa where she sang in the Choir and was a charter member of the church's singles group, and a former member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church.

Sharon Kay Boyenga is survived by several aunts and cousins and many friends, including her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alvin and Esther Boyenga; and a twin brother at birth.

Memorials may be sent to The United Methodist Church, 416 Hardin Street, Ackley, Iowa or to the American Cancer Society.
