Found Dead At Home
George Peters' Death Was Most Unexpected
Had Intended to Quit the Farm; Had Arranged for Sale
George Peters was found dead at his home, east of town, this morning. It is stated that he was found lying on the floor at home yesterday morning, but partially recovered himself. Mr. Peters' health had not been good for a considerable length of time; his heart was weak, and his health was affected otherwise.
There are no further particulars. His wife died several years ago. He has a son, George, Jr., who attends Ackley high school. No arrangements have been made for the funeral.

George Peters
George Peters was born in Grestziel, Ostfriesland, Germany, March 28, 1877. He came to America with his mother, one brother and one sister in 1893. On March 5, 1902 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Jansonius. To this union was born one son. His wife Gertrude, preceded him in death Feb. 8, 1904. He passed away at the Miller hospital February 10, at the age of 44 years, 10 months and 22 days.
He leaves to mourn one son, George, near Ackley, and brother Dick of Minnesota and other relatives and friends.
The body was taken from the hospital to the home of Mrs. J. Jansonius, Friday evening. The funeral services were conducted by Revs. H. Johnson, pastor of East Friesland Presbyterian church, and Rev. W. E. Fisher, pastor of First Presbyterian church, Ackley.
The statement that Mr. Peters had been found dead at his home, commonly reported, was an error; he died at the hospital. The day previous to his death he was taken seriously ill, although for a considerable length of time prior to that, he had not been in good health.
