Funeral Service Here For Carsjen Voss

Funeral services for Carsjen Voss of Minneapolis, who would have been 44 years old on Aug. 26, were held at the American Lutheran church in Grundy Center, Wednesday afternoon following a service in the Engelkes Funeral Home. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran cemetery north of Fern.

Mr. Voss was drowned Saturday night while swimming in a lake about 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis near Excelsior.

Carsjen Voss was born Aug. 26, 1907 at Fort Collins, Colo. The family moved to Grundy county when Carsjen was a youth. His father was pastor of the Salem Lutheran church north of Fern several years. The deceased graduated from the Parkersburg high school in 1926. Rev. Voss died in 1942.

The deceased, who was single, is survived by his mother, Mrs. E. J. Voss of Cedar Falls; five brothers, Reinhard and William, Cedar Falls; Rudolph, Grundy Center; Hans, Clarksville; and August of Oelwein; and one sister, Mrs. Freida Pergande of Milwaukee, Wis. Mr. Voss was a son of the late Rev. E. J. Voss, who was pastor of the Salem Lutheran church north of Fern several years.
