Ruth Beckman Dies In Hampton

Mrs. Ruth Beckman, 87, died Thursday, December 5 at her home in Hampton. Funeral services were held Monday at the United Methodist Church in Hampton with burial near the Beckman mausoleum in Rose Hill cemetery, Grundy Center.

Ruth Dickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Dickson, was born in Grundy Center and graduated from the Grundy Center high school in 1915. After her marriage to Herbert Beckman the couple continued to live in Grundy Center where he was employed by a service station. They had made their home in Hampton for many years. Her husband, who had been city clerk in Hampton, died in September 1982.

Mrs. Beckman is survived by three sons, Herbert of Fort Worth, TX; Paul of Carmichael, CA; and William, of Minden, LA; three daughters, Joyce Davis of St. Paul, MN; Bonnie Campbell of Escondido, CA; and Ruth Ann Tunks of Minneapolis; also two sisters, Estelle Clark of Ottumwa and Ferne Schafer of Ames; also 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Everett and Dwight Dickson, and two sisters, Gladys Laufer and Elizabeth Davis.
