Bernice Boswell, 93, of Conrad, IA passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Unity Point Health, in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Alice Church of God, in rural Conrad. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes. Interment will be at the Conrad Cemetery. A memorial has been established.

Bernice was born March 16, 1924 to Raymond A. and Alice Mary (Miller) Dudley, in Adair County, IA. She graduated from Creston High School, in 1942. Bernice was united in marriage to Monroe “Jack” Boswell on July 26, 1942, in Marysville, MO. In her early years she was a homemaker while her husband farmed. In her later years she worked as a cook for the high school, Oakview Nursing Home, and Bone’s Café. Bernice was a member of the Alice Church of God. She volunteered many hours at the Iowa Veterans Home. Bernice enjoyed her roses, flowers and vegetable garden, birds, sewing, and crocheting. Her entire life was dedicated to helping others, including family, friends, and neighbors. Her homemade rolls were famous within the family.

Bernice will be missed by a son, Steven Boswell of Whitten, IA, two daughters; Bonnie (Clyde) Jorgensen of Iowa City, IA, Peggy (Joseph) Kriegel of DesMoines, IA, 14 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three daughters; Mary Glenney, Betty Krier, Darlene Edwards, a granddaughter, Denise, a grandson, Nathan, two brothers; Daniel and Raymond Dudley.
