Wm. E. Stubbs was born Nov. 22, 1873, in Marshall county, Iowa, and died Dec. 18, 1898, aged 25 years and 26 days. In the spring of 1880 he moved with his parents to the home place two and one-half miles west of Conrad, where he remained until the time of his death. At the age of nineteen he united with the M.E. church at Conrad, and has taken an active part in church and League work until prevented by ill health. His last illness dates from the first of April, since which time he has been gradually growing weaker, patiently bearing his sufferings until the end, which came Sunday afternoon at 1:30, when he quietly passed away. He leaves a kind father and mother, three sisters and one brother, besides many friends to mourn his death. Funeral services were held in the M.E. church in Conrad Tuesday afternoon, Rev. C. W. Cleveland officiating, and interment took place in the Conrad cemetery.
