Lawrence Bolhuis

Cedar Falls--Services for Lawrence Bolhuis, 69, of Rt. 4, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery west of Cedar Falls.

Mr. Bolhuis died at 10:15 p.m. Friday at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of cancer.

He was born Feb. 10, 1906, in the Netherlands, the son of Fred and Dorothy Boelman Bolhuis and came to the United States at age six. He married Rena Muller Dec. 21, 1931, in Wellsburg. He farmed in the Cedar Falls area for many years until his death.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Chris Bolhuis of Rt. 4; a daughter, Mrs. James Holmes of West Branch; two brothers, Jerry Bolhuis of Parkersburg and Henry Bolhuis of rural Parkersburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Harm Meyer of rural Dike and Mrs. John Gersema of rural Shell Rock.

The family suggests memorials in his name to St. John's Lutheran Church, Christian Crusaders or Hillcrest Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Tuesday and from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the church.
