Harry Cakerice Rites At Ivester Church

Harry Cakerice, 85, died last Friday at the Eldora hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Ivester Church of the Brethren, with burial in the Sheller cemetery in Melrose township. Rev. John Dittmars officiated.

Harry Wesley Cakerice was born Dec. 3, 1881, in Carroll county, Ill. He moved to Iowa with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Cakerice, when he was 10 years old. He became a member of the Ivester church at an early age. He married Ida Nichols in 1912, and they farmed in the Ivester community until 1935, when they moved into Eldora.

He was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by his son Kenneth of Eldora, a nephew and niece raised in the family, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
