May 13, 1907 - March 30, 2004

Wellsburg-- Alice M. Anderson (Albright), 96, of Wellsburg died from natural causes on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 while in Hawaii. Funeral services were Friday, April 9, at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with Pastor Marlene Nehr of Ivester Church of the Brethren officiating.

Alice was born May 13, 1907, near Iowa Falls to Frank and Myrtle (Reynolds) Newell and graduated from the Eldora High School. On Sept. 20, 1929, she was united in marriage to Claire Albright in Hampton. They farmed until moving to Wellsburg in 1961. Claire died in 1972, and in April of 1974, Alice married Lester Anderson at her home in Wellsburg. She was active in ladies aid and volunteered at the Marshalltown Hospital for 19 years. Alice enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of Ivester Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include one son, Wallace Albright and wife Twila of Wellsburg and Hawaii; two stepsons, Jerry Anderson of Buffalo Grove, Ill., and David Anderson of Kearney, Neb.; one sister, Maude Clark of Hubbard; one granddaughter and a great-granddaughter. Preceding her in death were both husbands; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.

Alice was born May 13, 1907, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Reynolds) Newell and graduated from Eldora High School. On September 20, 1929, she was united in marriage to Claire Albright in Hampton. She is survived by her son, Wallace (Twila) Albright of Wellsburg and Hawaii; step-sons, Jerry Anderson of Buffalo Grove, IL and David Anderson of Kearney, NE; a sister, Maude Clark of Hubbard; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; sisters, Helen Harms and Frances Kirkdorfer; and brothers, Maynard and Raymond Newell.
