Albert Borchers, age 85, of Ackley, died on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services are 10:30 AM Thursday September 4, 2014 at East Friesland Presbyterian Church in Ackley with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Albert William Borchers was born on April 6, 1929 in Ackley to Pete and Gladys (Wolf) Borchers. In 1970, Albert was united in marriage to Gertrude Evans in the Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. Albert served as Military Police in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion, the Drainage Committee and as an Elder at East Friesland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his brother-in-law Robert Ghoske of Iowa Falls, his niece Ann Ghoske of Cedar Rapids and his nephew Allen Ghoske of Iowa Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
