Lowell C. Hines, 88, of Conrad, IA, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Oakview Nursing Home, in Conrad. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, in Conrad. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes. A memorial has been established in his name.

Lowell was born August 22, 1927 to Fay and Zada (Corsaut) Hines, in Sac City, IA. He graduated from Nemaha High School, in Nemaha, IA. He served his country in the United States Army towards the end of WWII. Lowell was united in marriage to Betty Holman on November 30, 1947, in Newell, IA. In his early year he engaged in farming in the rural Newell area. Lowell was employed with the Conrad COOP for 40 years as an outside foreman. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Conrad American Legion. When Lowell lived in the Newell area he was involved in FFA and 4-H.

Lowell will be missed by his loving wife of 69 1/2 years, Betty, four children; Greg L. (Karen) Hines, Dennis R. (Janice) Hines, Cheryl A. (Jeffery) Folkerts, Michael L. (Lisa) Hines, nine grandchildren; Adam (Amanda) Hines, Amy (Wade) Davidson, Jeremy (Mary Beth) Hines, Joel (Jennifer) Hines, Jason (Stacey) Hines, Andrew Vallee, Robert (Hailee Witty) Hines, Ryan (Mary) Hines , Nathaniel (Mariah Mabe) Folkerts, and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Craig Hines, and infant grandson, Alex Hines, three sisters; Pauline, Margie, and Gloria.
