Miss Aaltje "Ollie" Scholte, 94 of Ackley passed away Friday September 2, 2016 at the Grand JiVante Care Center in Ackley, Iowa. At the request of Ollie, there will be no Memorial Services. Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of arrangements.

Aaltje "Ollie" Scholte was born December 29, 1920 at Winschoten in the Netherlands to Kampo and Geeske (Grace) Scholte. In 1921 Ollie traveled with her parents to the United States through Ellis Island where Custom Officials deemed that the names Geeske and Aaltje were to difficult for use in America and renamed them "Grace and "Ollie". They first settled near Doughty, Iowa and in later years moved to Ackley, Iowa. Ollie was known as a hard worker and had places of employment including the Ackley Super Value Store, Kampe's Place, The Office of Doctor John Fetter DDS and the Ackley Canning Factory. She was a longtime member of the Ackley United Methodist Church. One rarely saw Ollie without her exclaiming, "Hello Kid!". She enjoyed reading books and magazines of all areas of interest.

Ollie is survived in Iowa by her niece Emily (Mike) Ubben of Ackley and nephews, Kalvin (Theresa) Scholte of Ackley and Andrew (Amy) Clark of Cedar Falls. In the Netherlands she is survived by her nephews Kampo (Riny) Scholte and Riekes (Cora) Scholte and her niece Janny Scholte along with many great and great great nieces and nephews throughout the United States and the Netherlands.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kampo and Geeske (Grace) Scholte, brothers Kampo and wife Ga Scholte, Kampe and wife Anna Mae Scholte, nephews Robert Scholte and Ronald Clark.
