Carrol Marlys Beebe, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, December 17, 2016, at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born April 19, 1925 in rural Reinbeck, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence R. and Minnie J. (Schlicht) Ohrt. Carrol married Harry T. Beebe on September 26, 1947 at Union Congregational Church in Reinbeck. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2014. Carrol was a 1943 graduate of Reinbeck High School. She worked for Waterloo Adjustment Co. (Credit Bureau of Black Hawk County) and later for Gamble-Robinson. Later, Carrol was a technical assistant at John Deere & Company, where she learned key punching and computing horsepower and torque for tractor engines. In 1956 she transferred to the new Product Engineering Center where she did many things, including curve plotting and analyzing elements in oil samples from tested engines. Carrol worked for John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed crocheting and tatting and was always ready for golf. Carrol was a member of the John Deere Golf League for 40 years, the Waterloo Women’s Golf Association and the Landa Ladies Golf Club in New Braunfels, Texas.

Carrol is survived by her three sisters, Eloise Keller, Delane Thede and Betty Petersen, all of Reinbeck; her brother, James (Susan) Ohrt, of Bend, Oregon; brother-in-law, Donald Delamore, of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Sandra Ohrt, of Urbandale, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her twin sister, Clarice Delamore; her brother, Robert Ohrt, and three brothers-in-law, Bud Keller, Wayne Thede and Alvin Petersen.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, with burial at Reinbeck Cemetery. Visitation will be 3—6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
