Third Death in One Family in Seven Weeks

Death entered the home of John Siefken again Tuesday, the third time within a period of seven weeks. The last one to be called was, Josie, the ten year-old daughter who had been an invalid for the past seven years. While in St. Louis for treatment Josie contracted an attack of diphtheria. She recovered from this and was discharged from the hospital and was brought home from St. Louis by her folks last Saturday. Since the attack of diphtheria she was very weak and finally on Tuesday her heart stopped beating and she went out of this world to go to a place where suffering isn't known.

Josie, while a child of three, seven years ago, was taken down with an attack of infantile paralysis. This terrible disease deprived her of the use of her lower limbs. Ever since that time the father used every means known to science to find a remedy that would bring a permanent cure. It was while at St. Louis receiving the benefit of a new kind of treatment that she was taken sick. During her long period of sickness, Josie, was a patient little sufferer and since the death of her little brother a few weeks ago she often expressed the wish that she might join him. Josie was beloved and cherished by her family as few children can be and the family who had not had time to recover from the recent loss of the sister and brother, feel this last blow about all they can endure. The undivided sympathy of the community sympathizes with them in their grief.

Funeral services are being held at the home at one o'clock this afternoon and later at the church. Dr. J. E. Drake is officiating at the service.
