Ausbrand M. Meyer, a lifetime resident of Grundy county, died at his home in Grundy Center at 5:45 Sunday morning. He had been afflicted with leukemia the past two years, but his condition did not become critical until a short time before his death. He would have been 64 years old had he lived until the 12th of this month.

Mr. Meyer was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus P. Meyer. He was born on a farm in Colfax township and grew up there. On April 10, 1907, Ausbrand Meyer and Effie VanDeest were married. The ceremony was performed at the bride's home in Colfax township with Rev. J. E. Drake officiating at the service. Twelve years after their marriage they resided on a farm a quarter of a mile west of the home place. They then moved to Holland where they resided six years. After that they moved to their farm 5 1/2 miles southwest of Grundy Center. Last winter they began the erection of a new house in Grundy Center which was to be their future home. They moved into this house last May. Their son Marcus operates the farm.
