Mrs. Lupke Hook Died Monday A.M.

Mrs. Lupke Hook died at 12:10 Monday morning at her home in Grundy Center. She was in failing health for several months. She was 73 years old.

Mrs. Hook was born on a farm in Pleasant Valley township and she grew up there. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Junker. On March 22, 1911, she and Lupke H. Hook were married. During the first 15 years of their married life they resided on a farm in Colfax township. In 1926 they moved to Aplington and remained there until 1949, when they moved to Grundy Center, which has since been their home.

The body was taken to the Engelkes Funeral Home in Grundy Center, where arrangements were made. Services will be at one o'clock on Thursday at the funeral home, after which services will be held at the Colfax Center Presbyterian church. Rev. E. Buschman will conduct the service. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Surviving are the husband and one daughter, Mrs. John E. Graves, Grundy Center. Other surviving members of her family are two sisters: Mrs. Fred Sents, Aplington, and Mrs. Clarence Meester, Parkersburg, and one brother, E. Junker, Cedar Falls. There are two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and six sisters.
