Mrs. Kampman Died at Aplington
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Reformed church at Aplington for Mrs. Mattie Kampman, who died at the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. George Meyer, at Aplington last Friday. She had been in failing health for a year due to cancer. She was 74 years old. Burial was in the Colfax Presbyterian cemetery.
Mrs. Kampman was born in Grundy county and she spent the early part of her life there. In 1892 she and Dirk Meyer were married. Mr. Meyer died 34 years ago. In February 1933 she and Nick Kampman were married. Mr. Kampman died ten years later.
One daughter, Mrs. Harm Meyer, died a few years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Louis Luitjens, Dike, and Mrs. Henry H. Smit, Grundy Center, and one son, Marcus, of Grundy Center. There are three stepsons, Christ and John Kampman, Aplington, and Elmer Kampman, Allison. There are 29 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Other surviving relative is a brother, Dan Meester, Rock Rapids.
Many friends and relatives were present at the funeral services. Those from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Dan Meester, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dirks, all of Rock Rapids; Mrs. Henry J. Mulder, Luverne, Minn.; Mrs. Tena Johnson, Clarksville; Mrs. A. J. Hawkins and Ike Meester of Brookings, So. Dak.; Harm Meester, Marshall, Minn., and Rev. and Mrs. E. Kampman, Meservey.

A Correction
In the obituary of Mrs. Mattie Kampman published in The Grundy Register last week, the name of one step-brother, Eilert Pruis, was unintentionally omitted.
