James Norman Griffiths, age 78, of Grundy Center, Iowa, was born the son of James and Anna Dieken Griffiths on January 7, 1936, in Hammond, Indiana. He accepted Christ as his Savior on January 15, 1963 at the Salvation Army Church in Hammond, IN.

Jim worked at LTV Steel Mills in Gary, Indiana, retiring in 1982. He had a strong love for trains and did a lot of traveling in the United States.

Jim moved to Iowa after his father passed away in 1999 living in Cedar Falls and Hudson, IA before moving to Grundy Center, IA.

Jim was a member of Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in Holland, IA when he passed. He was a long time member of Central Christian Church in Hammond, IN where he served as bus driver.

Jim died Friday, August 22, 2014, of cancer, at the Grundy Care Center under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.

Jim is survived by several cousins including, Mary Allen of Florida, Marcia Andersen of Waterloo, IA, Mike (Karen) Dieken of Dike, IA, Tim (Vicki) Dieken of Reno, NV, Jack (Gerry) Graham of St. Louis, MO, Sandra Dieken Helder of California, Paulette Dieken Lovell of Lansing, MI, Dixie (John) Spain of Parkersburg, Cynthia Dieken Wical of Colorado.
