Albert Tjepkes, 64, Dies In Hospital

Funeral services for Albert Tjepkes will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Engelkes Funeral Home, and 1 p.m. at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Tjepkes died at 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Friday. He had been in failing health for some time.

Albert Tjepkes was born in Colfax township on February 18, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Tjepkes.

He was united in marriage to Susie Andreessen on March 9th, 1921, at the Colfax church. The couple farmed in Colfax township until 1955, when they retired and moved to Grundy Center.

Survivors include his widow, one son, Arnold, Holland; two daughters, Mrs. Sebo Jansen, of Grundy Center, and Ima Jean, at home; and two grandchildren.

Also one brother, John Tjepkes of Ackley; and five sisters, Mrs. Elso Groote of Parkersburg, Mrs. Paul Andreessen of Grundy Center, Mrs. George Smit of Holland, Mrs. Henry Peters of Eldora, and Mrs. Greta Giese of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
