Remmer Stickfort Dies In Cedar Falls

Remmer Stickfort, a former resident of Grundy county, died at his home in Cedar Falls about 7:15 Saturday evening following a heart attack.

Services were in the Nelson funeral home at Cedar Falls on Tuesday afternoon. Burial was beside his wife in the cemetery at Holland. He was 93 years old. Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were two daughters.

Mr. Stickfort was born in Germany, March 15, 1870. He came to this country as a young man and was employed on farms. Dec. 22, 1897, he was married in Ackley. He retired from the farm in 1921. The past 12 years he lived in Cedar Falls. Surviving are five sons and one daughter. The sons are Jake, Cedar Falls; Richard, Stout; William, Grundy Center; John and Ben, Cedar Falls. The daughter, Mrs. Bena DeNeui, lives in Cedar Falls. There are 24 surviving grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
