Henrietta "Henri" Stickfort, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at her home.
She was born October 17, 1928 in Aplington, Iowa, daughter of Harm and Engeline (Saathoff) Rand. She married Raymond J. Stickfort on May 13, 1950 in Waterloo.
She attended a one room schoolhouse and received her LPN license. She was employed with Blacks Department Store, the Five and Ten, Rath Packing, Sartori Hospital, and Chamberlain Manufacturing during the war. She then went to work at Cedar Falls Schools at Humbert Elementary and retired as Head Laundress at Cedar Falls High School in December of 1993. She also made homemade chicken and noodles at the Noodle Nook at Cattle Congress for many years. She was involved in Girl Scouts, 4H, Janesville Rebekah’s, AMVETS, Omaha Fish and Wildlife Club, and Ostfriesen Heritage Society.
Survived by: her husband; two daughters, Leanne (Danny) Coonley of Clarksville, and Letha (Jack) Feeney of Omaha, NE; two sons, Loren and Lynn Stickfort; four grandchildren: Paul (Shelly), Brandon (Melissa), and Anthony (Jessie) Knudsen, Lisa Maes; 11 great-grandchildren: Audrey, Olivia, Ron, Tristen, Colin Knudsen, Landon Monroe, Dane and Kasey Cardenas, Izaiah and Aashia Maes, Nikkolous Castro; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Baby Cardenas.
Preceded in death by: four brothers: Bill Smidt, Ailt “Art”, George and Harry DeVries; and sister, Henrietta.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Holland Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to the service Friday.
Memorials may be directed to the family, UnityPoint Hospice or Donor’s Choice.
