Wallace Wilts, 79

Wallace Wilts, 79, of Holland, passed away February 19 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center.

Funeral services were February 22 at the Holland Christian Reformed Church in Holland. Burial followed in the Holland Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Wallace was born on October 19, 1922 in Holland, the son of Jacob and Anna (Lingelbach) Wilts. On March 3, 1949, he was united in marriage to Marlys Hinders at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Wallace was a farmhand for Alvin and Harm Hook. After that, he worked for the Dike Elevator. Wally then worked for Grundy County where he drove maintainer for over 25 years. He was a member of the Holland Christian Reformed Church and the church's Men's Society. Wally played on the Holland fast pitch team.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jake Wilts; four half-brothers, Fred, Lester, John and Reuben Finke; and two half-sisters, Louise Conklin and Edna Buchan.

Survivors include his wife Marlys of Holland; and a half-sister, Leona Canfield of Bettendorf.
