Services Held For Mrs. Fannie VanderHolt

Mrs. Fannie VanderHolt passed away at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center, Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held at the Holland Christian Reformed Church, Holland, on Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m. Rev. William VanHal officiated.

Mrs. Jim Willms sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". She was accompanied by Mrs. William VanHal, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

Grandsons who served as casketbearers were Todd Onnen, Gregg VanderHolt, Rodney Onnen, Grant VanderHolt, Robin Onnen, Galon VanderHolt, and Donald Meyer.

The ushers were Edwin Brower and Jasper Westerman. Mrs. Margaret Meyer and Mrs. Harm Itzen were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Holland Christian Reformed Cemetery, Holland. Relatives and friends were invited to return to the church following the committal services for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshment.

Mrs. VanderHolt was born on June 29, 1899, near Fern in Grundy county, the daughter of Jan and Agnette Everts Engelkes. She attained the age of 83 years, nine months and 15 days. She grew up around Fern.

On December 14, 1926, she was united in marriage to Harm VanderHolt at the Pleasant Valley Church parsonage by Rev. Siemsen. After their marriage they farmed in the Buck Grove, Dike and Parkersburg areas. On January 23, 1978, her husband, Harm, passed away. In February of 1979 she became a resident of Beverly Manor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son John, six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ben (Wilhelmina) VanHove of Steamboat Rock, Mrs. Merle (Agnes) Meyer of Holland, and Harriet Onnen of Grundy Center; one son, Willard VanderHolt of Parkersburg; one sister, Mrs. Jennie VanHauen of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
