Harman VanTiger Died Tuesday

Harman Edward VanTiger, 65, passed away at the Grundy County Memorial hospital Tuesday afternoon from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home at Grundy Center. Burial will be in the cemetery at Holland.

He was born January 20, 1906 in Shiloh township, Grundy County, Iowa, the son of Charley and Sarah Luitjens VanTiger. He farmed in Grundy county up to 1 1/2 years ago and since then had resided with his parents at 801 6th Street, Grundy Center.

Mr. VanTiger is survived by his father and mother, one daughter, Mrs. Marlene Reich of Panorama City, Calif., 4 sons, Charles, Chicago; Mervin, Derold and Bruce all of Kennewick, Wash., two brothers, Henry of Ackley and Harold of Anaheim, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Susanna) Baumgartner of San Marino, Calif., also 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two grandchildren.
