Jake Wilts Died Sunday Night

Jake Wilts died at his home in Holland at 8:30 Sunday night. He had been in poor health during the past 15 years. On Thursday he received a severe attack from which he was unable to recover and he continued to get weaker until the end came. He was 69 years old.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon and later at the Christian Reformed church, in charge of Rev. Paul Holtrop. Burial was in the Holland cemetery.

Mr. Wilts was born at Ludweiggsdorf, Germany, August 26, 1876. He grew up in that country and served two years in the Germany army. He came to this country in 1901 and went to Lyon county, where he was employed on farms. He was married there. 33 years ago he came to Grundy county. For three years he operated a farm in Pleasant Valley township. After he sold out he came to Holland 30 years ago and made his home here continually ever since. For several years after moving to Holland he did painting and carpenter work.

In 1920 he was married a second time to Mrs. Anna Fink, who survives him. There were two sons and one daughter from this marriage. They are Jake Wilts, who is with the American army in the Philippines, Wallace, who is on a Grundy county farm, and the daughter Annie is at home.

There are seven surviving step-children. They are Mrs. Louise Conklin from Davenport; Fred Fink, Rock Island; Mrs. Edna Buchan, Minneapolis; John Fink, Grundy Center; Rueben Fink, who is with the American army in Germany; Lester Fink from Havre, Mont., and Mrs. Leona Canfield, Bettendorf.
