At the age of six years she came with her parents to Iowa and settled in the vicinity of Stout where she received her education and grew to womanhood. When she was 18 years old she joined the Reformed church at Stout.

On September 30, 1919, she was united in marriage with Cornelius E. Dirks. To this union one daughter was born. From the date of marriage she lived happily with her husband in Holland, Iowa.

Mrs. Dirks leaves to mourn her departure, her bereaved husband; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Kruse of Holland; and one grandchild, Roger Ray; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pruisner of Stout; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Tjepkes of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Floyd Wolfe of Waterloo; three brothers, Arend and Henry of Stout and Peter of Spencer, Iowa, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

Mrs. Dirks, after a long period of intense physical suffering, departed this life on July 27, 1941, after attaining the age of forty-four years, six months and one day.
