Mrs. Geo. Hut Died Last Friday Night
Mrs. George Hut died at her home in Holland near midnight on Friday night following an illness of several weeks. She suffered a stroke of paralysis a number of weeks ago from which she was unable to recover.
Funeral services were held at the home and later at Lutheran church. Rev. Arthur Hueneke, pastor of the Lutheran church of Shiloh township, delivered a sermon in the German language. Rev. Peter Eldersveldt, pastor of the Christian Reformed church spoke in English. Burial was in the Holland cemetery.
Gerrichien Dopper Hut was born at Scheemda, province Groningen, Netherlands, on July 31, 1877. On Nov. 8, 1900, she was united in marriage with Geo. Hut.
Twelve years after their marriage they emigrated to this country, locating in Grundy county, where they had since resided with the exception of four years spent on a farm in So. Dakota.
About six weeks ago the deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis which left her partly disabled. She bore her suffering with great patience until death relieved her on Friday, Apr. 22, at the age of 60 years, 9 mos. and 22 days.
There are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and sister, her husband, Geo. Hut; two sisters, Mrs. Menno Nobbe of Holland, Iowa, and Mrs. Blau, living in the Netherlands, besides a host of friends and neighbors.
