William Kessler Dies Suddenly

William Kessler died suddenly at his home in Grundy Center at 8:45 Tuesday night following a heart attack. He had been in his usual health up to two hours before his death. He was 76 years old.

Funeral services will be held at the home at one o'clock Saturday and at 1:30 in the Christian Reformed church at Holland. Rev. Zwaanstra, pastor of the Lincoln Center Chr. Reformed church, will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Holland cemetery.

Mr. Kessler was born at Cherry Valley, Ill., Aug. 5, 1876. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kessler. He came to Grundy county with other members of his family in 1882.

April 3, 1901, Will Kessler and Engelina Poppen were married. The first three years they lived in South Dakota. After that they resided in Grundy county continually, nearly all of that time in Colfax township. They moved to Grundy Center from their Colfax township farm last January.

Surviving are the wife, four sons and three daughters. The sons are Elmer, Reinbeck; George, Grundy Center; LeRoy, Otterville, Iowa; Dan, Waterloo. The daughters are Mrs. Carl Witte, Parkersburg; Mrs. Fred Kalkwarf, of Parkersburg; Mrs. Anthony Sinke, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Two sons died in infancy. The daughter Ellen died in March of last year.
