C. H. Sonnenberg, aged 86 years, died Saturday night at the home of his son Henry Sonnenberg of German township at 11 o'clock of old age. He had been ailing for several years and gradually declined in health until the end came. Short funeral services were held at the Sonnenberg home Monday conducted by Rev. G. Haken, pastor of the German Reformed church of German township. After services the remains were shipped to Parkersburg where funeral services were held at his old home. The body was laid to rest beside his wife who died over a year ago. Henry Sonnenberg and wife and Mrs. H. Oestendorff, daughter of deceased, accompanied the remains to Parkersburg to witness the last sad rites of the departed. Obituary next week.

Ben Sonnenberg received word Saturday, announcing the death of his father at Titonka. The remains were sent to Parkersburg and from there they were taken to the Rev. Siemsen church west of Fern where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Sonnenberg was eighty years old and his death was due to old age. He had been failing gradually the past year and his death had been looked for anytime within the past month. Mr. Sonnenberg was an old resident of Grundy county. He and his family lived many years west of Fern. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Sonnenberg moved to Titonka where they made their home with their son Henry. A year ago the aged wife died and her remains are resting by the side of her husband in the Siemsen cemetery. There are two sons Ben of this place and Henry of Titonka. Mrs. Jurgen Reents of Parkersburg is a daughter.
