Harry Klosterboer Dies Here Tuesday
Harry Klosterboer, 83, died of a heart attack at his home in Grundy Center early Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Bethany Presbyterian Church with the Rev. E. H. Buschman officiating. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.
He was born August 16, 1888, in Tichelwarf, Germany, the son of Onno and Anna Bergman Klosterboer. He came to the United States when he was 16.
He was married to his first wife, Frances Berends, on January 21, 1919.
Mr. Klosterboer came to Grundy Center in 1923, where he dealt in the buying and selling of livestock.
On March 7, 1933, he was united in marriage to Hattie Engelkes at the Pleasant Valley church parsonage. The couple resided in Grundy Center at the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow; one son, John Ray, Grundy Center; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (June) Meester, Parkersburg; one brother, Rev. John M. Klosterboer, Jefferson; three grandsons and one granddaughter.
He was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first widow, two sisters and one brother.
Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
