End Comes For Mrs. John Peters Of Colfax Twp.

Mrs. John Peters, who spent the greater portion of her long life on her farm in north Colfax township, died last Thursday evening from advanced age and kidney trouble. She was confined to her bed but a week before the end came.

Funeral services were held at the Siemsen church last Sunday with the local pastor officiating. There was a very large attendance at the funeral service. Burial was beside the husband in the Siemsen church cemetery.

Mrs. Peters would have been 73 years old had she lived until Sept. 10. She was born in Ogle county, Illinois. She came to Grundy county 55 years ago and shortly thereafter she was married. Mr. and Mrs. Peters began life together on their Colfax township farm. The husband died in 1914. Since that time Mrs. Peters managed the farm with the help of her children.

Mrs. Peters was the mother of twelve children. Nine of them are still living. They are Mrs. John G. Meester, Mrs. Tom Meester, Mrs. Harm Freiling, Dena Peters who is at home, John, Alfred, Heit, Jake and George all of Grundy county. There are 46 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. There is one brother, Jacobus Willemsen, of Lyon county.

The pallbearers were Mrs. Peters' grandsons.
