The Death of John Muller

John Muller died Aug. 16 at the home of his son Bernhard one mile west and one mile south of Fern. He was born in Wirdum, East Friesland, Germany, March 31, 1920. He came to Grundy County, Iowa, with his wife and three children in Oct. 1874 and has ever since been a resident of this county. His wife died May 5, 1889. He was a faithful member of the Reform church in this vicinity and a professing christian. He always enjoyed the best of health, but owing to old age his constitution for the last few months grew weaker till he reached the age of 83 years, 4 months and 15 days. The funeral was held Tuesday the 18th and was well attended. Rev. Schafer conducted the services and preached the sermon from Psalms 71-9 in connection with Isaiah 46-4.
