Obituary of Charles Gerloff

Charles Gerloff, the son of Henry and Dora Gerloff, was born at Freeport, Ill., on April 15, 1874. He was one of seven children who blessed the home.

When but three years old he came with his parents to make his home in Grundy county, Iowa. It was in Grundy county that he grew to young manhood. It was here, too, that his father preceded him in death in 1893. Grundy county continued to be his home until in 1911 he went to Little Rock, Iowa, to make his home with his brother William. Little Rock continued to be his home until God's call came to him. He never married, but made his home with his brother until his earthly pilgrimage was ended.

Charles Gerloff had been in failing health for some time, but little did we anticipate that the end would come so quickly. A serious operation was a necessity for him to live, but the shock and his weakness was too great to stand the same. God's call home came to him at the Osceola County Hospital, in Sibley, between 1 and 1:30 Sunday afternoon, June 5. At that time he had attained the age of 64 years, 1 month, 21 days.

His father preceded him in death in 1893 and his mother in 1913. One sister and three brothers have also preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing from this life his brother William of Little Rock and his brother Lewis of Holland, and many other relatives and friends.

May the bereaved find special comfort and joy in our Lord and Savior who is always able to comfort and encourage and bless in life. He alone knows your every need and knows how to supply them according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
