Mareka May Pruis, 74

Mareka May Pruis, 74, of Grundy Center, died August 14 at Grundy Care Center of cancer. Funeral services were August 17 at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Mareka was born June 20, 1928, near Holland, the daughter of Eilert and Trientje (Meester) Pruis. Mareka was a member of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church in rural Holland.

Survivors include her sister, Henrietta Pruis of Grundy Center; a brother, Marlyn and his wife Lourine Pruis of Holland; a nephew Tony; and a niece, Louri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; a sister, Gertie Pruis; and a nephew, Wendell Pruis.
