Thomas Meester Services Held

Thomas Meester, of Holland, passed away Monday, May 25, at his residence, of natural causes, having attained the age of 83 years, 2 months and 19 days.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church of Holland. Burial was in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Pallbearers were Jim Moeller, Dale Meester, David Hook, Allen Reiter, Merle Bakker and Norman Eiklenborg.

Tom was born on March 6, 1915, in rural Holland the son of Jacob R. and Cente (Clauson) Meester. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Reiter on October 11, 1940, at the Pleasant Valley parsonage in rural Holland. He farmed with his wife on their farm one mile north of Holland. The couple retired in 1979.

Tom was a member of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church of Holland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Meester; a grandson, Steven Horwedel; 2 brothers, Theodore H. and Henry J. Meester; 2 sisters, Trena C. Meester and Anna A. Patterson.

Survivors include is wife, Jeanette; a daughter, Dee and husband Everette Horwedel of Marion; and a grandson, Michael Horwedel of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
