Johannes A. Meester, 81

Johannes Alfred Meester, 81, of Parkersburg, died July 4 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were July 8 at Pleasant Valley Reformed Church, Holland. Interment was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Holland.

Johannes was born the son of Thomas K. and Anna Peters Meester on September 23, 1920. He received his education in a rural school near his home. On November 25, 1943, he married Dorothy Mavis Ross. Johannes was a farmer and retired in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

Johannes is survived by his wife; two daughters, Carol (James) Bolin, Cedar Falls and Kaylene (David) Bern, Dike; three sons, Robert Meester, Grundy Center, Leon (Jean) Meester, Holland and Russell (Joan) Meester, Holland; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Tena Paterni, Grundy Center.
