Area Girl One Of Three Killed In 'Falls Crash

Janola Kruger, 18, of RR2, Parkersburg, was fatally injured in a car-pickup accident at 2:10 p.m. Monday afternoon on Airline Highway, in Cedar Falls. Janola was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kruger.

She was one of three women killed in the accident. All were in the same car. The other girls were Katherine Conradi, 18, and Lynn Millar, 20, of Cedar Falls.

Katherine was the daughter of Merle Conradi of Cedar Falls and granddaughter of Neal Conradi of Reinbeck. All three were students at Hawkeye Tech.

The driver of the truck, Howard Eastman, and wife, are being treated in the Cedar Falls hospital.

Funeral services for Janola Kruger, 18, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Valley Reformed church west of Fern with Rev. Carl Regnerus officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Reformed Church cemetery.

Janola was born August 25, 1959 in Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of George and Grace Kruger. She grew up on a farm south of Parkersburg and graduated from the Dike high school in 1977. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church and the RCYF of the church.

She is survived by her parents and four brothers, Rodger and Delmar of Cedar Falls and Roland and Delroy of Grundy Center.

A memorial fund has been established. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center is in charge of arrangements.

Janola Kruger Rites Thursday At P.V. Church

Funeral services for Janola Jill Kruger, 18, of R.R.2, Parkersburg, were held at 1:30 p.m., March 2, 1978 at the Pleasant Valley Reformed church west of Fern. Rev. Carl Regnerus officiated.

Mrs. Larry DeVries and Mrs. LuDean Johnson sang "Does Jesus Care" and "God Will Take Care of You." They were accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Walterman who also played selected prelude and postlude numbers. Casket bearers were Tony Muller, Kevin Kromminga, Timothy Schlampp, Gaylen Gieken, Dennis Kruger and Melvin Freeseman. Ushers were Charles Freese, Jake Schoneman, George Krull and Glen Patterson. Floral attendants were Mrs. George Krull, Mrs. Darrell Arends and Mrs. Carl Voss Jr. Following the committal service at the Pleasant Valley Reformed church cemetery, friends and relatives returned to the church for Christian fellowship and lunch.
