H. J. Meyer Dies At Cedar Falls

Henry J. Meyer, who spent the active part of his life in Grundy county, died last Thursday at his home in Cedar Falls following a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 62 years old.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the Engelkes funeral home in Grundy Center and later at the Parkersburg Reformed church, west of Fern. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Meyer. He was born on a farm in Pleasant Valley township and he grew up there.

On Dec. 7, 1921, Henry Meyer and Miss Grace Doeden were married. They began life together on a Grundy county farm and remained on a farm until they moved to Cedar Falls seven years ago.

Surviving are the wife and 3 children: George, Dike; John, Reinbeck; Mrs. Ann Osborn, Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; a brother, John Meyer of Aplington; three sisters, Mrs. Harm Bulten, Aplington, Mrs. H. H. Meester, Dike, and Mrs. John Weichers, Wellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother in infancy.
