Laura Geiter Died At Courtney Home

Laura J. Geiter, daughter of Rudolph and Frederika Geiter, was born in Stephenson county, Illinois, on Sept. 16, 1867. She passed away at the Courtney Nursing Home on Dec. 12. She was 86 years old.

After her mother's death she took over the responsibility of caring for her younger brothers and sisters. Later she lived for 20 years with a brother in Minnesota. After his death, she returned to Grundy Center, where she lived most of the time since.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister. The only surviving relatives are nephews and nieces.

She was a member of the First Baptist church of Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held in the Ferree Chapel in Grundy Center Monday afternoon at 1:30. Burial was in the Pleasant Valley Evangelical cemetery.
