Mrs. Henry Landes of Whitten died at her home, April 22, 1903, after a brief illness. Deceased was in her sixty-ninth year and with her husband was a pioneer settler of Felix. She was a kind, useful, good woman and will be sadly missed by us all. She leaves the aged husband and seven children, William, George and Jesse of our town, Sherman of Whitten, Jule of Eldora, Mrs. Amos Pierrel of Hardin county, and Mrs. Jos. Lyon of Whitten. Her death was so unexpected that not all of the children had time to be with her but reached the sad home shortly after. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church of Whitten conducted by Rev. Thompson of Elberen. The remains were laid to rest in the Benson cemetery Saturday.
