The many friends of Mrs. Levi Dilly were greatly surprised to receive the news by telegram some few days ago, that death came to her quite suddenly at her home in Louisiana.

Mrs. Dilly was only sick for a few days, and, while every relief possible was offered, it was of no effect, and she "fell asleep" on the evening of the 1st day of Sept., 1891, at her home in East Baton Roughe, La. The grief stricken husband made immediate preparation for, and successfully made the long journey to our town, the scene of many years of the deceased's life, that she might be buried here. Funeral services were held in the old M.E. church, after which her remains were interred in the cemetery near this city.

Deceased's maiden name was Raymond. She was born at Honesville, Orange county, N.Y., on Oct. 14th, 1827. At the time of her death she was somewhat more than sixty-three years of age. The 28th of May next would have completed the 44th year of her married life. She was so well known to the people of this community, by her work in church and home that any eulogy is unnecessary. The Lord has received his own. May we be so faithful as to meet her in the beyond.
