In this way we share with all relatives and acquaintances, that our dear father, father-in-law and grandfather Arend Brugmann has separated from this life. He was born on the 18th of August 1836, at Tergast, Ostfriesland and died on the 16th of October near Holland, Iowa from pneumonia. He reached the age of 66 years and about 2 months. At the age of 20 years, he traveled to American and to Illinois. In 1859, he stepped into matrimony with Trientje Bakker. This marriage was blessed with 11 children, whereof 2 led the parents into death. Both parents were converted to God and later were baptized into the German Baptist Congregation at Baileyville. In 1882, they came here and affiliated with the congregation at Buck Grove. On the 22nd of August 1900, the wife of the departed died. Those who mourn are the 9 children, in-laws and 17 grandchildren. Both died poor sinners, but rich in the Lord. The funeral occurred on October 20th among a large gather at Buck Grove where the parents both lay side by side until the blessed resurrection. The undersigned spoke at the funeral from the Revelation of John 21:4. This notice is brought by the sorrowing relatives. In the name of the family of the deceased. J. de Weerdt, Pastor. Buck Grove, Iowa.
