Mrs. Anton Slight, Early Resident, Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Anton Slight, one of the early residents of Pleasant Valley township died at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo last Thursday night. Mrs. Slight submitted to an operation at the hospital ten days ago. Pneumonia developed last Tuesday. She died two days later.

Funeral services were held at the home in Aplington Sunday afternoon and later at the Reformed church at Aplington.

Mrs. Slight lived near Buck Grove all her married life, moving to Aplington with her husband when they retired from active farming. Her husband preceded her in death three years ago. Burial took place beside her husband in the Buck Grove cemetery.

Surviving relatives are six sons and one daughter. The sons are Edward, Ralph, John who live near Aplington, Carl from Racine, Wisconsin, Martin from Shell Rock, Leslie from Omaha. The daughter Mrs. Leon Parsons lives in Waterloo.
